you just really have no idea what this litle message means to us fans, this is reeeeeally rare, kyo's never filmed like completely, he's always in some dim light and only the lower half of his face is filmed, and to see him so natural here, is just a total shok, I can't stop watching this video *6times already*
He's so beautiful
My respect for this men increases everytime I see him (_ _)

I went to that show. A lot of shit happened...it got postponed obvisouly, and stupid ass ungrateful ignorant asshole of fans threw shit and hit Shinya. Fuckin' dickheads getting pissed off at Dir En Grey and all the other bands because of fucking TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. Fucking jackoffs. By the way, we love you, KYO...NOT KI-YO, Kyo<3 :D
Post by Namae 12:43 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
Namae, they weren't pissed off at the bands. We were pissed off at the unexplained 3 hour delay.
Also, nothing hit Shinya.
Post by DeathWarrant 12:55 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
I want to apologize to Dir En Grey for all the fucked up shit that happened at this show. The show was cancelled and they were sooooo kind to come out on stage and give out picks and drumsticks to the "fans". Actually, the audience was mostly comprised of selfish, ungrateful, rude motherfuckers. They were putting me through hell, and did the same to Dir En Grey. They threw the band's free cds and all this other stuff at them even though the show was cancelled because of a power shortage. After all that, Dir En Grey still came out to sign autographs and take pictures with fans... and every where on the ground you would see their broken cds. Those "fans" were pathetic and London is supposed to be a great place to go to a concert... FUCKING PATHETIC.
Post by 1:08 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
to deathwarrent whether or not it hit shinya does not matter, they almost did. and, shouldn't be throwing shit at them. and, i know for a fact, maybe not everyone, was pissed at the bands.#thank you, thank you very fucking much

Post by namae 1:25 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
i'm pretty sure the people who got the free dir en grey cds and threw them weren't the dir en grey fans.
Post by 1:59 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
I flew over for the Brixton show from Ireland so I was upset whenever it got cancelled. There was absolutely no reason to throw anything at any of the bands, it was not their fault. I saw Die from Diru getting hit with a bottle along the side of his head. These things happen. Also, I'm pretty amazed you managed to get Kyo to film a message haha, thank you <3
Post by Mairead 8:56 AM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
I feel so fucking sorry for all the Dir en grey fans that came over from Germany, Finland and Sweden. Everyone else can just go to the rescheduled gig but these guys can't, they fly back today. Ihope yu guys get a proper Europe tour to make up for this shit.
I feel so sorry for the bands, too. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have the gig cancelled as last minute as you can fucking get, and then to get the backlash from the crowd when you're trying to apologise. I hope Dir en grey don't think that the UK is full of ungrateful dickheads, they got so much shit from this tour with people throwing crap at them, and they people throwing their CDs about now...There is no fucking need, it wasn't the band's fault. Everyone that reacted that way should be ashamed. We all have reason to believe that the BMTH fans started most of the shit through the tour. Well on, dicks.
I hope we get opportunity to show them that we're not all bad soon.

Ahhh so annnoyed at last nights show! Was so excited, travelled hours, spent tons of money and then didnt get to see Dir en grey perform :( but what annoyed me more were the f-ing idiots in the pit throwing shit at them on stage! Its not there fault! Dir en Grey were far too good for this tour in the first place and it makes me so mad they they have been treated so disrespectfully! To the Dir en grey guys; the uk is not that bad-there are some people who really appreciate you and your music! So sorry for all the shit!x

I am german too. I was on the show in leeds and manchester.
I am really sorry for EVERY FAN, for all dir en grey, msi etc.. from every country!
i am sorry for kerrang and oll the bands..
but, when i read such things, then i get really angry.
Why do people such things?!
I dont have the right english words for this.. so it must be in german lol

Dir En Grey were the only band that were truly sorry for the gig being cancelled but i wonder.
why was the projector on if ther was no power? why were lights on? why did some lights flick on then off again? and why did the mics seem to work?
hmmm

Post by Russell 12:49 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
Amir- they could still get power from a backup generator, but not enough to run a show, health and safety reasons. Still gutted though, and I do know that Diru are heading back to Japan tomorrow and are touring there for the next 3 months so have fun reschuedling...

......wow at kyo being filmed!! とても楽しかったね。。。。。キョが大好きいいいいい!
Post by 涙 1:26 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
...wow. You know guys, people threw things on stage all through the tour, so no it wasn't because of technical difficulties. They are just disrespectful arseholes.
Like in the Leeds show, someone threw water at Kyo, he gave them the death glare, Toshiya gave them a bit of attention. XD
This sickens me, makes me wish I wasn't British.
Kyo will be glad to be back in Japan, the guys will chill out and come back. When they do I'll be there waiting and giving them loads of support!
Have a safe trip home Diru. Don't wait too long to come back <3

but yeah, that's just total disrespect. They obviously showed that they did care about the fans, and then they threw it back in their faces
sorry to hear it was canceled at Brixton, hope that they do reschedual it for you guys!
also, how in the fuck did Kerrang get that vid done?

you guys at the london gig where a fucking disgrace your all a bunch of animals!
how dare anyone think they have the right to throw something at anyone else never mind it being a band or whatever its total dis-respect!!
you guys let yourselves and your country down on front of the bands especially Dir en grey.
i demand an apology from kerrang even though the events of the night were beyond there control the throwing had been happening at previouse venues no warnings were issued and nothing was done.
i hope you guys learn something from this and have better crowd control and not hesitate to remove trouble makers from the queue never mind waiting till they start causing trouble in the venue itself!
your lucky kyo did that interview for you its a rare privelege after last nights disaster one i dont think you diserve.

This show was a pity. It was so disrespectful to us not to warn us the power problem had occurred the day before with The Streets.
Nevertheless, even if I came all the way from France and cried my eyes out, I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of this wonderfully talented man that is Kyo and got a book signed by Toshiya, Kaoru and Die, who were just as amazing. They are so nice. Thank you so much once again Dir en Grey for the wonderful emotions you give us and your kindness, it was fantastic meeting you.
And thank you Kerrang for this video!

Post by Jordan 4:50 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
too bad the show didn't actually happen...
power failure was it?
didn't that happen to the streets the night before? apparently someone "fixed" it at 10pm on 29/01...
my brother was extremely pissed off as he went to the streets the night before and he also went to the gig last night and to find they'd both been canceled due to the same reason is appalling.
i know the staff at brixton tried to fix it but i stood in the queue for an hour and a half, then stood inside for another hour waiting for any news on the power cut and then to find out that i'd come all this way in the freezing cold to find out they still hadn't fixed it was so disappointing.
i myself did not throw anything at the staff or the bands and i kinda knew it was going to happen cuz my brother had given me the heads up on what had happened the night before. the reactions of some other people were pretty scary though and i was expecting a riot to happen although luckily it didn't.
steve and jimmy did a kinda beat-box thing of 'shut me up', bless 'em. at least they tried to do something, they didn't just stand there like the other bands.
i'd just like to say that i'm both upset and disappointed about last night but hey, it was good night out and i met some awesome people and had a good time even though the gig didn't happen in the end.
Post by Emma 5:39 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
i'm so sorry about last night. sorry for everyone payed the money but didn't get what they want. also very sorry for the bands. it was not their fault but someone throw things to them. i cried when i know someone did that to Diru.
Hope they still like UK, not get pissed by the awful management and the awful rude kids.

i feel really bad for all you dir n grey fans i have never seen a band with such dedicated fans.
ive never listned to thier music and i really wanted to check it out last night :/
i got a cd tho when i was in the que hahh ill deffo give it a listen the crowd were out of control which probs wasnt helping atall it must of made the bands feel so hopeless :/
Post by hannah 7:43 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
Hannah: we are "dedicated" fans because of the pure emotion they put into their music.
If I was you, I'd start from the beginning. 1997. Look for the Gauze era. Yes you HAVE Uroboros and it is a fantastic album but if you're starting out, I'd start from the beginning. :)
Dir en Grey have been here before. Twice. They loved it here. Knowing Dir en grey they'll come back with heavier, more intense songs <3
They made loads of new fans, and I'm glad. They deserve it.
Channell: Bet you was one of the shit throwers. How about thinking even THEY didn't know what was going on. I'm sure they would have told you when the found out. NO-ONE deserves stuff thrown at them. Ever.
I know it won't stop Dir en Grey from coming back <3 They like our airports too much XD

i cant believe people just threw shit..yea i booed...only to the bloody staff.. i mean anyone see the WHOLE stage loaded with amps..usually one bands stuff, then close to another bands stuff! DONT SET EM ALL UP AT ONCE IN A TINY VENUE. it was only the academy electric blowing, not brixtons!

Hannah - I love Dir en grey too but we've got every right to fucking moan. We were screwed about for three hours! If the world was full of people like you then nothing would get done because no one would complain about anything.
Post by JP 10:22 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
yh haha that kinda true i dont really blame you lot but i dnt think moanig about it is going to fix the technical problems i was pissed off and i felt cheated aswell for being made to stand and not know what the fuck was going on i was pissed that i diddnt get to see my fav band there play thier set i met them b4 the gig (BMTH)it was nice meeting them but i went there too see these bands perform lol not to be around
Post by hannah 10:31 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
To everyone getting pissed, they had technical difficulties and the show couldn't be put on. The end. For the people who went for Diru, they will be coming back, so don't fret! From my understanding, The Streets show was cancelled as well(the night before actually) so it's not just Kerrang that had to suffer.
However though. Throwing shit at a band is completely out of line and it just shows that some people are quite immature and if I were them, I wouldn't tour for a long time there. Especially since I read that their OWN FANS were throwing shit. That's fucking pathetic and everyone who did it should be fucking ASHAMED of themselves. Not only did you make yourselves look bad, you probably made the London fans look bad as well. And I'm not just talking about the people who threw shit at Diru. I'm talking to everyone who threw shit.
And to end this already long comment, how cute is Kyo? He did the shortest message but at least he actually made a message. He should do it more often as he has a really nice speaking voice.
Post by Emilie 10:51 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
I came all the way from Norway to see Dir en grey. I got there the night before, with a bad ear infection and a nasty cold, furthermore, I stood at the barrier for two hours, trying not to faint from the pressure of the people behind me.
It's no way the academy can make this up to anyone that came from other countries, it's not cheap you know.
But still...throwing things at the bands!? WTF people, it was not, and will never be, their fault!! I think it was fucking brave of the members (Kaoru, Die and Toshiya) to come out and sign stuff. Die was freezing his ass off while everyone got their shit signed and photos taken. Shinya also popped out once or twice, but people were almost jumping the poor man! And not to forget that they were literally standing on their own cd's that idiots had thrown on the ground.
I'm so fucking dissappointed...
...by the respectless people that showed up, and at the venue for not giving any information.
I support Kerrang and the bands, they did their best and it was out of their control!
Post by Chao 11:47 PM 31/01/2009 Report Abuse
Yeah, I think when Shinya came on stage and threw out drum sticks to the audience people were throwing stuff at him.
So, they were throwing stuff at him for giving out his signature drumsticks. Nice on, guys.

Kerrang! I 2nd that demand for letter of apology for Dir en Grey it should be published in the next issue to make up for all the shit Dir en Grey have been through...
for fuck sake Leeds, Southampton and now fucking London. OK it's fair enough to be really annoyed that the last show got canceled due to power failure but how the fuck is that the bands fault?!!
How the fuck can you call yourself a Dir en Grey fan and still fucking attack them and destroy their goods!!!
Also please don't call yourself a "true" Dir en Grey fan when u only have the one album...... its just retarded.
Post by com1k 6:40 AM 01/02/2009 Report Abuse
Fucking immature morons. It's disgusting that people would throw anything at a band (even ones they don't like). If you threw anything at diru then you're not a fan, you're just an ignorant douche bag who doesn't deserve to listen to any of their music. Fuck off.
Post by Jkun 6:48 AM 01/02/2009 Report Abuse
nicely put Jkun

i can't believe people threw stuff at diru!! that's so disrespectful! and there is now way that it could have ever been their fault that there was a power failure!!! to anybody who threw anything - you're disgusting, and have given diru a totally wrong impression of their so-called "fans" here. if you're willing to throw something at a band you can hardly be called a fan. i totally agree with Jkun
anyways, well done kerrang on getting this video! how did you do it?? and he even smiled at then end ^_^ yays

I was at Brixton and you had to have been there to understand why people were acting how they were. Firstly, having been told there was a failure power everyone was far more than just annoyed especially those who had paid several hundred pound to get there and see the show. Standing in a queue for over an hour in the freezing cold was the next thing that got everyone very annoyed and then after finally getting inside and waiting for an hour and a half to then be told that there was no show, now that's why people got so angry. It wasn't the fact that there was no show, it was the pointless wait, lack of organisation and lack of information on the situation. Many thanks however to MSI who did a little improvisation of Shut Me Up which did make the crowd a bit happier. I think the fact that the other bands failed to really put in any effort made the crowd very impatient and they then became quite violent. Of course no-one should have been throwing things at the bands, it wasn't their fault that the power had gone out but some understanding of the crowd's reaction because of the evening's events. I think rescheduling of the show should be done, I know they've already said it won't bs happening but everything should be done to make it up to those who were so disappointed, a refund isn't enough.

i can't believe people actually threw things in the first place. Must have been because they were 14 year old posers.
But I missed dir en grey signings, devastated once again! my family brought me to the gig, but didnt want to leave me waiting in the cold, so took me with them to a pub, when i came back, everyone was leaving. I was wondering why there were CDs on the floor... disappointing

Kyo is awesome and the whole band are insane, to have him at least say that is amazing. Can't wait to see them in Japan .
Post by Uroboros 11:35 AM 01/02/2009 Report Abuse
I can't believe what happened at London...Kerrang (although it's not their fault) will have a lot to answer for as I know how much the metal scene can hate on the magazine, and how far Dir en grey's fans usually travel...if there was violence that that's what I would expect, Dir en grey fans can be fanatical. And long waits, lack of food...will make you cranky.
That said, holy shit, you must have done something super nice to Kyo for him to make this message...like the fans above said, it's rare.
With people throwing shit...in their blogs Diru haave mentioned it a few times, and didn't seem happy about it. I was hoping London would show them their most appreciative fans, like their first ever show here, but no, look what they get..a shambles, more throwing shit. Would you want to come back to the UK after being treated like that?
Oddly enough though, out of everyone, Kyo seems the most positive!
Post by Eve 11:51 AM 01/02/2009 Report Abuse
This last video is soooo awesome!!! People don't believe it but Kyo has changed and he behaves different than he would in Japan. Maybe it is because over here fans treat Dir en Grey actually like the people they are, and don't scream like little girls when they actually see them. My friends saw them in Liverpool on the street and in shops and then in Brixton they had to help Shinya find the venue because he was brave enough to catch the tube all by himself (he's soooo cute! <3 Shinya<3). I regret not being able to see them in London, I was really looking forward to it, but in the end there is nothing any of the bands could have done to remedy what happened. Throwing things at them is not right, they haven't been playing with the sockets! (Where were you when the power failed, Toshiya?? <3 Toto <3 lol)
And the signing and picture taking outside was the bands idea and they weren't forced to do it, they just thought that it was the least they could do, I am very proud of Dir en Grey for doing this, I thank Kerrang! for the videos and for the chance to see my all time favourite band touring in the UK.
Anyway, I have to say that the tour has had a lot of luck and it was only a matter of time until some venue couldn't support all the electrics of the 5 bands.
I am glad that I didn't only go to one gig, I followed the Kerrang! Tour in Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London.
Yes, I'm greedy but Dir en Grey is my personal brand of Heroin and I didn't get to see them for a year and 3 months, and when you are addicted to something, abstinence makes things very blurry...
They will definately come back to UK, and when they do, I only hope that they won't have ungrateful fans of other bands, that think they are just some random unknown band and start booing at Kyo's solo (his siren song! ^^) or throw glowsticks and stuff at them.
I pray for them to come back but as headliners!!!
So, for now and always
Take care and stay safe.
<3 Diru 4ever!
<3 Die <3...
<3 Toshiya <3...
<3 Kaoru <3...
<3 Shinya <3...
<3 Kyo <3...

I waited 9 hours in the rain to see dir en grey and I wuldnt of gave a shit if they just walked on stage sang one song and then went back off, there's still no excuse to abuse the band, or any other band that was touring. I noticed that non if this shit happened to BMTH and it does only happen when they do..... so it kinda gets me thinking what kind of fucking arrogant fan base they have...

A lot of the throwing stuff through the tour was BMTH fans. Not a single fucking thing was thrown at liverpool because the BMTH fans left.

The Brixton show was so disappionting. I feel sorry for the people who slept on the streets for it. I only waited 6 hours in the cold but it was still like hell for me. I spent £120 getting to Brixton and am so angry knowing I'm not getting it back. At least the beach balls were some form of entertainment inside though!
I also feel sorry for the people that didn't get to meet Die or Kaoru signing. It was my 3rd time meeting Kaoru (although I still haven't had the chance to properly talk to him) and my 4th meeting Die. Die said he will come back to the UK very soon! ^^ He was so sad to not have been able to play that night, so hopefully we won't have to wait too long to hear Dir en Grey perform!

Wow.
And here I was going to write into KERRANG! for not featuring Dir en grey (apart from the last issue of course) enough and then I go and find this.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT THEM IN MORE!
Post by LBKB 4:12 PM 02/02/2009 Report Abuse
LBKB, they were on the bloody cover a couple weeks ago and before that they had a feature nearly every week (usually a double page spread.) There have been gig reviews, album reviews, a two page interview with Kyo, and two issues in a row had posters of them. You're complaining that "they don't feature them enough"? Geez, us DIR EN GREY fans should be grateful for just the slightest mention of a Japanese band in a Western music magazine.
Post by 5:15 PM 02/02/2009 Report Abuse
If I think of Brixton I can only see bums, a stressed manager, yelling securityguards, drunks, electricity problems and crackho's.
Dir en grey thank you very much for the video messages. Please come to Holland...

Look at his face at the end...he did NOT want to do this -.-
Post by Rad 6:09 PM 02/02/2009 Report Abuse
To be honest, power failure or not I still had an okay night, got to meet a few freinds, atleast got a vocal rendition of shut me up, and I must admit the idea of a riot quite excited me. My biggest problem is the travel money wasted but I can atleast get my ticket money back + have had a free song.
As for anyone that complains about security, drunks, violence etc that is what Brixton is about and why I love it. It's not a family venue, it's raw and primal and if the audience aren't happy they won't be conservative. They'll let you know with a one finger salute.
Thanx for the video Kyo, hopefully be moshing to your music soon

What happened at brixton was totally uncalled for. I really hope diru dont have a wrong impression of the UK now.
I've been into these guys for 5 years. Got every album, from gauze to uroboros, and some stuff from their la:sadie days. I worship these guys. And if a bunch of assholes ruin their impression of the UK and stop them coming back I think it's only right that you burn in hell.
To everyone who threw anything at diru, you are a disgusting excuse for a music fan. Go rot

i was there as well, but what i dont understand is that, people were throwing stuff actually at the band members and the kerrang editor, its not there fault the power went down. throw stuff & shouting abuse & swearing at them wont help the matter in any case. god some fans need to realise, the bands dont have to come back to the UK, to london if they refuse not to. COME ON PEOPLE, if your a true fan, dont do it next time. i may get stick from this message but at least i have stated my point. i was standing and chatting to a girl that came all the way from america just to see this tour, MSI came on and that brightened up her day, yes she was pissed off like all the others including myself, but thats no one to blame but the actually power itself, sorry to have to say it but stop hating on kerrang, brixton, band members and even technictions. its no ones fault. yes when i got the kerrang mag today with ''LONDON BRIXTION ACADMEY KERRANG RELENTLESS ENERGY DRINK TOUR 2009'' i actually did cry, its not pathetic, its the fact that it was a good ''never was gig'' although it was my first gig, that isnt stopping me from going back there to 'give it a name'' gig, thats my next concert =] im looking forward to it, bring it on brixton (Y). plus bring me the horizon are in concert in october anyways, see they are coming back!
which i myself & a friend are going to see, it will be good.
but remember people STOP! blaming kerrang for the power, its not there fault in any way
many thanks,
